Eric Stetson Born Again in Christ
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Eric Stetson was baptized into the Christian faith on February 28, 2003, by Mark Batterson, Lead Pastor of National Community Church in Washington, D.C.
Standing with him in the water, Pastor Mark (left) prepared Eric for the important ritual of initiation into the spiritual body of Christ.
Before accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Eric Stetson had been an atheist, a New Ager, and most recently a Baha'i for almost five years.
National Community Church produced a video documentary about Stetson's conversion to Christianity. The testimonial was shown at a Sunday worship service in which Pastor Mark preached on the importance of Christian witnessing. In the video, Eric testified about his personal transformation and his hope for others.
"I was an arrogant person who thought I knew all the answers to all the big questions in the world," he said. "Now I realize that I really know nothing. All I know is that Christ knew all the answers and that He has the answers for every single person who has ever existed and ever will exist. And that if we look to Him, it is Him alone who can solve our problems and give us what we really need, in every possible way.
"I hope that God will work in my life in the ways that He knows is necessary, and that He will do the same for everyone else in every way that everybody else needs. And I hope that God will draw all souls in the world towards Jesus Christ, because it is only in Jesus that we can find the way."
